Today I am super excited to do something I've never done before. I'm gonna show you what this little product can lift.

How much weight can this small captive workholding fastener hold?

Well, we're going to show you visually how much it will hold in the context of the fact that this is a 5,000 pound forklift. So you're gonna have to take my word for it it's actually rated more than double this but I get this question all the time "how much will it lift, how much will it hold?" Well, visually you can see it'll hold at least that

This part is for all the skeptics out there. You're looking at it going what I've got these two big blocks, of course I can lift 5,000! So, let's take it apart and see what we get on the inside, alright?

What you've basically got is a tiny little modular fixture. There's the fastener and two locators now we didn't put side forces on this, so these locators did not affect how much we were lifting. All we did is we pulled this stud up into that block.

So, let's get it going!

All right it started up, that's pretty good pretty good! All right, if you will put your eyes on that force gauge down there, it's gonna tell us how much weight this is lifting. I can tell you right now it's not quite to the limits of this machine we didn't want to do that but, it's really close.

Now you got to ask the question, what's gonna give? Is any of it gonna give? Maybe the straps, maybe the gauge itself, I don't know let's find out!

Whoa, is creaking! Whoa! Check it out, it's in the air!

Alright, now you can hold it there for the next 20 hours but I don't think you want to watch that long right? So, I'm going to let it back down.
